: Gamepad, Fast Travel & Quest Fixes
- Blueprints can now be opened with a gamepad.
- Fast travel points near the Warehouse and Crow's Nest were moved to avoid collisions with other objects.
- Meteorite debris no longer disappears while you are looking at it.
- Parking Zoo animals no longer disappear after loading a save.
- Hopes and Dreams received more fixes in the Bunker area; the announcement does not specify their exact scope.
- Fast travel interaction text, the Boar journal description and several quest, trader and item names received localization fixes.
: Quest Fixes, Fewer Crashes & More Moon Rock
- Stone Furnace: 3 Wood produces 2 Coal in 10 seconds.
- Moon Rock boulders now give 5–7 Moon Rock.
- Dismantle Bench construction costs 10 Wood and 10 Iron Ingots. Its deconstruction refund is 5 Iron Ingots, and its repair materials are 3 Iron Ingots.
- The October 14 update lets you complete Listen To Recording by pressing play on the recording in your journal. The developers say players stuck on this objective should now be able to continue.
- The developers fixed a crash linked to equipment.
- The developers fixed a multiplayer crash when collecting Moon Rock.
: Quest Fixes & Steam Invites
- October 11 improved Hopes and Dreams completion; see the October 14 journal-play fix above for the latest announced recovery.
- High Frequency can be completed while Hopes and Dreams is active.
- Lost quest keys: Anna or Skinwalker hand out replacements (Breaking the Radio Silence, The Way Home, Rise Above the Cold).
- Steam invites and “Join Game” work when the joining player is in the main menu.
- Quest tracker updates after changing language; pinning crafting recipes works.
- Fixed a workbench crafting crash; better building preview visuals; several translation fixes.
: Crash Fixes & Co-op Improvements
- Fixed crashes after skipping the intro, when joining while another player holds a ranged weapon, when using a held consumable and when reloading a campfire on the world map.
- Fixed stutters from stair building parts; updated DLSS and FSR.
- Friends-only server list prioritises friends' worlds and shows more servers.
- Quest items stay in the world when picked up, preventing some stuck quests.
- Fast travel points are easier to spot; building placement and materials improved.
- The TR-22 Rudi pistol counts for the “Craft Any Weapon” task; gamepad crafting tooltips fixed.
: Hotfix 2: Stability Fix for RTX 40 and 50 Series
- FSR disabled on NVIDIA RTX 40 and 50 series cards to reduce crashes.

: Early Access launch
- Permafrost enters Early Access on Steam with solo play and online co-op for up to four players.
What's next
The developers publish their plans in the Early Access roadmap. Asked about a first-person view, a developer replied in the roadmap thread that it is “on the list for review”. Planned content is not playable until a patch ships it.
Coal recipe and Dismantle Bench construction, refund and repair materials were checked in game data after the October 14 update. Moon Rock yield and journal-play recovery follow the dated developer announcement. Other reference records and map positions have not all been rechecked for this update.
